After nearly a decade spent in music-industry purgatory, JoJo (not that one) finally has a new album coming out: The former teen star’s third LP, Mad Love, will be released October 14. It’ll be JoJo’s first album since 2006’s The High Road, which was followed by a years-long legal battle with her label that left the “Leave†singer unable to officially release new music. That era ended in a 2014 court victory, and JoJo has spent the subsequent years opening for Fifth Harmony, releasing EPs, and inventing the word “tringle.â€Â The announcement of Mad Love also brings the album’s first single, “Fuck Apologies,†featuring Wiz Khalifa, which will hopefully do its part to heal the longstanding tensions between Boston and Pittsburgh.
