Between The Daily Show, The Late Show, Full Frontal, and Late Night, there’s already tons of special convention coverage in store for the next two weeks, and now we can count on even more from The Onion. The site announced today that it will broadcast live Republican convention coverage this week from the 19th through the 21st, with plenty of special treats planned during both the afternoons and evenings on their homepage, YouTube channel, and Facebook page. Here’s more from the press release:
The afternoons of July 19-21, The Onion will be running the speeches that you won’t be seeing on any other network—the speeches that other outlets are afraid to cover. And during the prime time speeches on all four nights—including the presumed acceptance speech from Republican nominee Donald Trump—The Onion will be providing a live video stream from the convention floor with running commentary, available on our homepage, YouTube channel, and Facebook page. Editors from The Onion will be on the ground in Cleveland, ready, willing, and able to add insight to stories and broadcasts before, during, and after your convention coverage. Our RNC coverage is only the first wave in a flood of new video from The Onion this year, with more live coverage coming from the Democratic National Convention, as well as original video content from some of the greatest comedic minds in the world.
