Think of how different our nation would be if a young St. Vincent (then Annie Clark) had realized her dream of being randomly pulled out of the stands and getting to play for the Dallas Cowboys alongside Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, and Emmitt Smith based solely on her sick jersey. Sure, we’d have our first female AND first child NFL player, but we probably wouldn’t get this sweet, wavy rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner.†One day, the actual first little girl lineman will hear it, and she will be proud.
