Stephen Colbert finally found his groove as host of CBS’s Late Show with his run of live episodes airing after the Democratic and Republican conventions. So it’s only natural that he’s pushing for more live, post-politics TV – he’s going live again after two of the upcoming presidential debates and the vice-presidential debate on Monday, September 26, Tuesday, October 4, and Wednesday, October 19. The presidential debates promise to get absolutely bananas ratings due to the fact that they’ll involve Hillary Clinton debating a pathological lying sociopath. Going live is a bold move, as it gives he and his writers precious little time to actually write material about the debates themselves. But based on recent evidence, they’re all up to the task.
