Drake started from the bottom, and now he’s here, the undisputed streaming king of Apple Music. He might have been asking fans to Please Forgive Me in his short film released Sunday night, but they were already happy with the Canadian. His latest album, Views, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts way back in April and kept the title for much of the spring and summer, is officially the first album to receive 1 billion streams on Apple Music. The accomplishment was memorialized when Apple bigwigs Tim Cook (CEO), Eddy Cue (senior vice-president), and Larry Jackson (Apple Music’s head of content) presented the rapper with a plaque at Drake’s San Jose, California, show last Saturday. Drake posted a picture of the gift on his Instagram and wrote, “Thank you to everyone.â€
