After destroying the competition at Japan’s box office this summer, Toho’s Shin Godzilla (known outside Japan as Godzilla Resurgence) is getting its chance to take a (very quick) bite out of the American market with a limited release. SlashFilm reports that U.S. distributor Funimation Films will run the movie in about 440 theaters from October 11 until October 18. The movie, which is the franchise’s 31st installment and the 29th by the monster’s original studio Toho, out-performed Gareth Edwards’s 2014 Godzilla in Japan by a large margin. The destructive reptile’s return to his homeland means the film will be shown in America with subtitles (no dubbing this time around), but really the screams of terror translate into every language.
