Just a few months after Barack and Michelle Obama delivered keynote speeches at this year’s SXSW, they’ve decided the time is right to hold their own. As one of his final cool acts as sitting president, Obama has announced he’ll hold a one-day festival at the White House on October 3 called — wait for it — South by South Lawn. It’s in partnership with SXSW and, like the original, will feature panel discussions, live performances, and short student films. None of the acts have been confirmed yet, but we know one Cool Teen the president could definitely consult to curate at least the music portion. Listen to the kids, bro!
