Kathy Bates’s loyalty to the Ryan Murphy–verse continues unabated. According to TVLine, Bates is the latest Murphy troupe member to join Feud, Murphy’s upcoming anthology show about a famous beef. The first season has Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon cast as Joan Crawford and Bette Davis, respectively, and centers around their infamous rivalry on the set of Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? Bates has signed on to play actress Joan Blondell. The Oscar-nominated performer had a lengthy career, appearing in films including The Cincinnati Kid, The Blue Veil, and Grease (she’s Vi!). Blondell is mainly relevant in Feud for being Team Bette, making Joan Crawford the bad seed of Blondell High.
