This Animated Rendering of a Leonard Cohen Interview Is a Lovely, Fitting Tribute

Leonard Cohen died last week at the age of 82, and the latest tribute to the legendary singer-songwriter is, much like Cohen’s own body of work, lovely, if a bit unusual. Cohen is the latest subject of PBS’s “Blank of Blank†digital series, wherein lost interviews by famous people are animated. The chosen interview for Cohen is a 1974 appearance on WBAI FM. In it, Cohen reads his poem “Two Went to Sleep,†reveals the process of writing “Sisters of Mercy,†and spoke of the changes that come when translating his songs from the page to sound. The animation befits Cohen’s pensive, imaginative mind and serves as a fitting remembrance of his work. Watch above.
