How bossy was Camila Cabello’s seemingly abrupt exit from Fifth Harmony? Not as snakelike as many fans and her own former group would have us believe, apparently. In a long note explaining her side of the story, Cabello says the group’s statement alleging that she alerted the rest of the members of her departure through “representatives†is “simply not true†and that she wasn’t informed they’d be making such a statement on her behalf. “I was shocked to read the statement the Fifth Harmony account posted without my knowing. The girls were aware of my feelings through the long, much needed conversations about the future that we had during tour,†she says. “Saying that they were just informed through my representatives that I was ‘leaving the group’ is simply not true … I did not intend to end things with Fifth Harmony this way.†On Monday, audio believed to be of 5H member Lauren Jauregui saying the group is treated like “literal slaves†was also leaked online. Luckily, Cabello’s note is typed up in nearly all lower case, so we can all remain calm.
