A new Fox comedy pilot is filling out its cast. According to TV Line, Eva Longoria has signed on to star in a pilot at the network called Type-A, which was ordered back in January. Based on the book Assholes: A Theory by Aaron James, the series is written by Lesley Wake-Webster (New Girl), and Jason Winer (Modern Family) and centers on “a group of consultants hand-picked to do the dirty work most professionals can’t handle: layoffs, downsizing, generally delivering horrible news. To everyone else, they’re the enemy, but to each other, they’re family.†In addition to Longoria – who will play “an ambitious, brutally honest consultant who is at war with her inner ‘nice girl’†– the pilot has also cast Andy Richter, Ken Marino, Kyle Bornheimer, and Steve Harris. Here’s the rundown of who they will play from TV Line’s report:
Richter will play Luderman, a master manipulator who makes Machiavelli look like a sweetheart; Bornheimer will portray Ben, an Army vet with one leg who is the moral compass of the office; Marino is set as Garland, a slick, charming attorney — and total shark — who also happens to be the ex of Longoria’s ambitious Axler; and Harris will play Carson, the security chief with an intimidating physical presence who has a soft spot for his show poodle.
