As America slides into a slow swamp of despair, hope will now and always come from our neighbors to the north: Canada. Whether it’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, with his boyish good looks and progressive views, or Drake and his Drakeness, or any number of other good-looking and appealing humans the country produces, Canada is a welcome bit of arctic sunshine during these dark American days. And today things got sunnier still, for Canadian singer-songwriter and OG Apple ad songsperson Leslie Feist announced that she’s set to drop her first album in nearly six years next month. (The last was 2011’s Metals.) The new, 11-track release will be called Pleasure, and, as Stereogum is reporting, Feist herself tweeted about the title and its meaning today, along with sharing some evocative, springlike cover art. I think we’re all ready for some brightness, no?
