Julia Roberts definitely won’t appear in Homecoming’s second season, but she’s still doing deals with Amazon. Per Deadline, Roberts is in talks to star in and executive produce the limited series Charlotte Walsh Likes to Win, based on the Jo Piazza novel. Roberts would play the titular Charlotte Walsh, an ex–Silicon Valley exec who moves her family back to her hometown in Pennsylvania so she can run for Senate in a midterm election. Charlotte is blindsided by the messiness of the campaign, and her opponent’s willingness to exploit a secret that threatens “everything she holds dear.â€
The playwright Jon Robin Baitz — creator of Brothers & Sisters and The Slap — will adapt the book. Last Sunday, Roberts had to misfortune of announcing that Green Book won the Oscar for Best Picture.
