President Trump enjoys going back on his SNL bullshit every now and then, with this week’s comedic ridicule of his “national emergency†seemingly proving too much for our POTUS to handle. Because a few hours after Alec Baldwin dusted some honey powder on his face and quoted coherent musings such as “wall makes safe†and “can has wall,†Trump fired off the ole’ Twitter words to express anger about how bad SNL continues to be — to the point of, somehow, being illegal. “Nothing funny about tired Saturday Night Live on Fake News NBC! Question is, how do the networks get away with these total Republican hit jobs without retribution?†he wrote. “Likewise for many other shows? Very unfair and should be looked into. This is the real collusion!†There were also a bunch of caps-lock words after that.
Baldwin, who won an Emmy for impersonating Trump on SNL and is used to feuding with the president on social media at this point, responded by questioning if the tweets should be taken as a serious, legitimate threat. “I wonder if a sitting President exhorting his followers that my role in a TV comedy qualifies me as an enemy of the people constitutes a threat to my safety and that of my family?†he wrote. Trump didn’t offer a response.
