It’s been just over a week since Nipsey Hussle’s sudden and tragic death on Sunday, March 31. Now, fans are invited to remember the rapper at a public memorial at the L.A. Staples Center this week. According to the arena’s website, California residents can obtain free tickets (up to four per household) beginning Tuesday, April 9, at 10 a.m. The actual memorial begins Thursday, April 11, also at 10 a.m.
Hussle, born Ermias Joseph Asghedom, was shot and killed outside his clothing store in Los Angeles’ Hyde Park neighborhood. Alleged gunman Eric Holder was charged late last week with the rapper’s murder, as well as the attempted murder of two other men in the same incident. Holder has since entered a plea of not guilty. Hussle was 33 when he died.
