Producer Miranda Bailey, who was behind the films Swiss Army Man and Don’t Think Twice, has backed out of the film Time Capsule over Georgia’s strict new abortion law. The film is just a month away from shooting in Georgia, but according to Variety, there is now no producer attached to the project. Deadpool’s Brianna Hildebrand is still attached to star alongside Todd Grinnell, and sources told Variety the film is still scheduled to begin filming in July. The resignation is one of the first signs the law could affect Georgia’s independent-film industry, in addition to bigger projects. Earlier this week, CEO Bob Iger suggested Disney might no longer film in the state if the controversial abortion law takes effect on January 1 as scheduled.
