Not long after handing out a season-two renewal to Aidy Bryant’s new series Shrill, Hulu has renewed two other new comedies. The network announced today that it’s ordered new seasons of freshman comedies PEN15, which debuted back in February, and Ramy, which premiered in late April.
Starring Maya Erskine and Anna Konkle and co-created by Erskine, Konkle, and Sam Zvibleman, the Lonely Island–produced PEN15 will return to Hulu for a 14-episode second season — 4 episodes longer than season one. (Shrill’s next season will also be a longer one, with eight episodes instead of six.) Ramy, meanwhile, stars and is created by comedian Ramy Youssef and has received an order for a ten-episode second season. Premiere dates for the new seasons haven’t yet been announced, but considering they just debuted within the past three months, we don’t mind waiting around a little longer for more updates.
