It’s been 30 years since the original hit theaters, which means a whole new generation of moviegoers have yet to be scared by the sentient sperm and squealing ova of Look Who’s Talking. Hopefully Sony Pictures’ Screen Gems will bring them along for their reboot of the TriStar comedy starring Kirstie Alley, John Travolta, and Bruce Willis as the voice of baby Mikey.
According to Deadline, Jeremy Garelick, director of 2015’s The Wedding Ringer and writer of 2006’s The Break-Up, will write and direct a new, updated version of Amy Heckerling’s 1989 film featuring a “diverse cast.†Garelick is reportedly “just getting underway with the writing,†so if he’s looking for inspiration, there’s no telling what horrific chaos Mr. Toilet Man has wrought across the five boroughs during the past few decades. Seriously, look at this guy! These movies were designed to burn themselves into the child psyche, weren’t they?
