The Toronto International Film Festival revealed its slate Tuesday morning, with some of the year’s most anticipated movies making the list. The Joaquin Phoenix–starring Joker, The Goldfinch, the Judy Garland biopic Judy, the new Noah Baumbach movie Marriage Story, the Safdie brothers’ Adam Sandler–starring Uncut Gems, and the New York adaptation Hustlers — will all play at the festival. Some Cannes hits, including the Palme d’Or winner Parasite, will also play at the fest.

Once Were Brothers, a documentary about the Band’s Robbie Robertson, will open the festival. Marjane Satrapi’s Marie Curie biopic, Radioactive, will close the festival. The TIFF lineup usually portends what movies will be in the awards conversation, but it’s still early — particularly for movies like Greta Gerwig’s Little Women and Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman. The Toronto International Film Festival will run from September 5 through September 15.

Update, August 13: The Toronto International Film Festival has announced its Contemporary World Cinema lineup, with additional films added to the Gala Presentations and Masters. This year’s film festival will now also feature Terrence Malick’s A Hidden Life, the Natalie Portman astronaut movie Lucy in the Sky, and Trey Edward Shults’s new movie Waves.
