Get your spoons, everyone! We’re going back into The Matrix. Variety broke the news today that Lana Wachowski is directing a fourth installment of the franchise with her chosen ones, Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss, set to reprise their roles as Neo and Trinity. Wachowski will write the script with Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell, and the movie will be produced and distributed by Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow. This is real! It is not a simulation!
John Wick director and stunt professional Chad Stahelski actually spilled the beans about this back in May when he was promoting Parabellum, telling Yahoo Movies U.K., “I’m super happy that the Wachowskis are not just doing a Matrix, but they’re expanding what we all loved,†Stahelski said. “And if it’s anywhere near the level of what they’ve already done, it wouldn’t take more than a call to go, ‘Hey, we want you to be a stunt guy’ and I would probably go and get hit by a car.†He added at the time that he didn’t know if Lana would be directing, but now that that’s confirmed, get ready to plug back into the sim, everybody.
