Meryl Streep might have given us what felt like the ultimate study in being Julia Child in 2009’s Julie & Julia, but if everything goes our way, Joan Cusack will soon be strapping on an apron and flexing her own butter-and-flour-coated acting chops as the late great celebrity chef and author. According to Variety, a scripted drama series based on Julia Child’s life is “nearing a pilot order†at HBO Max. The script, written by The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel producer and Tyrant writer Daniel Goldfarb, will probably have a lot less Amy Adams playing an easily frustrated blogger compared to Meryl’s big-screen version, but honestly, isn’t that what we all wanted the whole time anyway?
