HBO Max just added the first film to its nascent library of exclusive content, and the company is starting big with Steven Soderbergh’s next movie, tentatively titled Let Them All Talk. Written by PEN/Faulkner Award–winning author Deborah Eisenberg, Talk stars Meryl Streep as a famous author who sets out on a cruise with some old friends, played by Candice Bergen and Dianne Wiest. Together they will have some fun and heal old wounds, but they are also joined by Lucas Hedges, who plays Streep’s nephew (who is apparently on this trip so he can “wrangle†his aunt and her friends), and Gemma Chan in the role of a literary agent. Streep and Soderbergh have The Laundromat premiering soon at the Venice Film Festival, and HBO Max will have the whole Friends library come next spring. So everyone here is doing pretty well.
