Lea Michele has had studio recordings of Christmas music come out before, but that was back when she was Rachel Berry on Glee. But the real-life Michele will hide her holiday spirit no longer, telling People today that a new album, Christmas in the City, will arrive later this year. The singer and actress says it’s “always†been a dream of hers to put one out, and that she’s really, really happy right now in her newly married life, so it seemed like the right time to lay down some holiday tunes with a “very vibrant and bright and powerful sound.†Michele will be working with former Glee producers Adam and Alex Anders, and will be singing standards like “Silver Bells†and “Silent Night†as well as an original song, “Christmas in New York.†She’s also bringing friends, with longtime friend Jonathan Groff joining her for “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,†Darren Criss appearing on “White Christmas,†and Cynthia Erivo coming in for “Angels We Have Heard on High.†It’s a very Broadway Christmas.
