Not to sound too hyperbolic during a holiday weekend, but please inject this cinephile cuteness into our veins. Immediately! Martin Scorsese, who’s proudly serving a second term as Vulture’s honorary grandfather, cemented his Adam Driver fanboy status last night at the Telluride Film Festival, when he made a surprise appearance at Driver’s tribute panel. (He received one of the festival’s Silver Medallions.) Scorsese previously directed Driver in the faith-tastic Silence, and spent most of his speech fawning over how talented his pal is. “I can’t tell you the perseverance and the beauty of the performance, and the experience I had with him,†Scorsese said, among other remarks. “He has marvelous screen presence. One of the best, if not the best, actors of his generation.â€
