Jennifer Lopez may be out of the country, enjoying her second honeymoon with Ben Affleck following their second wedding, but she’s going to have a lot of Virgos to answer to when she gets back. According to Heather Morris, noted Glee alumnus and former Beyoncé backup dancer, J.Lo once dismissed all Virgo dancers from an audition.
“Jennifer Lopez held an audition for dancers for one of her tours — this was years ago,” Morris said during an appearance on the Just Sayin’ podcast. “Most of the time at dance auditions, you’re not getting paid, you’ve been there since 10 a.m. and you’re auditioning until 6 p.m.,” she said. “People judging you the whole time.” According to Morris, who said she heard the story from multiple people, Lopez came in at the end of a long day to thank the dancers. “She walks in the room and she said, ‘Thank you so much, you guys have worked so hard. By a show of hands, if there are any Virgos in the room, can you just raise your hands?’” Lopez apparently saw the raised hands, whispered to her assistant, and dismissed the Virgos. “They had to leave after a full day of auditioning.”
Morris emphasized that the Virgo incident was “hearsay,” but implied that she had it on good authority that this did, in fact, happen, though she could have gotten the sign wrong. I have no idea if this is true, but Lopez’s supposed astrological bias doesn’t come as a shock. Lopez previously told Rolling Stone that she believed in “psychic ability and premonition and things meant to be.” And in her book, True Love, she reportedly opened up about how a conversation with a psychic inspired her to go on her 2012 Dance Again tour. Currently, she reportedly has a close relationship with psychic medium Jae Rae, whom she met in the early 2010s.
Assuming the story is true, why does Lopez, a Leo, dislike Virgos? A basic internet search shows that Virgos and Leos are actually compatible — granted, in an opposites-attract kind of way. And it’s not like Lopez hasn’t worked with Virgos in the past — Gloria Estefan is a Virgo, as are Lopez’s Hustlers co-stars Keke Palmer and Lili Reinhart. Maybe her tour already had enough Virgos, or maybe, as some fans have noted, it has something to do with her ex, Marc Anthony, being a Virgo. Or maybe she doesn’t have anything against Virgos at all, and she just needed an easy way to whittle down a group of talented dancers. Her mind.
