Designer Elise Ballegeer hoped to create a community for other designers and creatives in the form of a neighborhood boutique when she founded LAHN in 2020. The pandemic forced her to close her doors just weeks in, and Elise decided to continue running the shop out of her apartment. Five years later, the West Village boutique is a flourishing storefront featuring curated products from independent, female-owned, and sustainable brands, and Elise and her husband split child-care duties for their 8-month-old daughter while she tackles the daily challenges of running a business. In this special video edition of the column presented by Intuit QuickBooks, Elise tells us how she gets it all done.
