These Rock and Roll Hall of Famers are done hitting the road. On August 2, Aerosmith shared in a lengthy social media statement that they have made the “heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision – as a band of brothers – to retire from the touring stage.†But why are they peacing out of their Peace Out farewell tour early? Aerosmith’s statement notes that it has become clear that it is “not possible†for frontman Steven Tyler to experience a “full recovery†from a previous vocal injury, despite months of effort and the support of a medical team. Last September, the band announced that it was postponing dates on the Peace Out tour because Tyler had “fractured his larynx.†The rescheduled stops, which were set to run from mid-September through February 2025, have now been canceled. Per Aerosmith’s statement, refunds will be automatically issued through Ticketmaster, while fans who used third-party resale sites should contact their point of purchase.
“We are grateful beyond words for everyone who was pumped to get on the road with us one last time. Grateful to our expert crew, our incredible team and the thousands of talented people who’ve made our historic runs possible,†the statement adds. “A final thank you to you - the best fans on planet Earth. Play our music loud, now and always. Dream On. You’ve made our dreams come true.â€
