Barbra Streisand Didn’t Mean to (Publicly) Ask Melissa McCarthy If She’s on Ozempic

Classic rules for apologies include:

1. Say you’re sorry.
2. Say what you’re apologizing for.
3. Don’t make excuses.

Barbra Streisand, however, has never been one to play by the rule book. Streisand half-apologized to Melissa McCarthy on Instagram on April 30 for shade she didn’t know she was throwing. Specifically, after McCarthy posted a picture on April 29 with her friend Adam Shankman as the two attended a gala to benefit Center Theatre Group, Streisand publicly commented, “Give him my regards did you take Ozempic?†(lack of punctuation hers). The comment has now, wisely, been deleted.

But Babs is not one to let something go: “OMG — I went to Instagram to see the photos of the beautiful flowers I’d received for my birthday! Below them was a photo of my friend Melissa McCarthy who I sang with on my Encore album. She looked fantastic! I just wanted to pay her a compliment. I forgot the world is reading!†AHAHAHAH. Sorry, it is absolutely notable that nowhere does Streisand address why, precisely, she felt it was appropriate to ask if somebody was on Ozempic (in fact, Ozempic is never mentioned at all). But since we’re all here talking about her, she might as well plug a project. This is exactly what the internet is for.
