Flavor Flav is singlehandedly trying to save Red Lobster from bankruptcy. He previously ordered the whole menu in attempt to “save the cheddar bay biscuits,†and the restaurant has now rewarded him with his own signature off-the-menu meal.
‘Ya boy meant it’
June 5, 2024: The private-equity cogs that steamrolled all over Red Lobster are not the same cogs that power Flavor Flav’s clocks. A finance scheme that my feeble brain will not deign to try and explain here may have contributed to the seafood chain’s May 19 bankruptcy filing, but can a massive cash infusion from a certain hype man, rapper, and reality-TV star save the broke American institution? On June 3, Flavor Flav took it upon himself to singlehandedly end Red Lobster’s money woes and make sure Beyoncé has somewhere to take her man. To begin his noble side quest, the Public Enemy member “ordered the whole menu†on his recent visit to Red Lobster, according to a tweet that included a picture of the personality with an entire table full of the finest surf and turf our country has to offer. “Ya boy meant it when I said I was gonna do anything and everything to help @redlobster and save the cheddar bay biscuits,†he wrote. TMZ reports the company is in talks with Flav for a potential partnership. What, his historic and strategic investment wasn’t enough to keep the business up and running? This will be a long mission.
Flavor Flav’s Faves
July 2, 2024: Flavor Flav’s plan to save Red Lobster appears to have entered its next phase. The rapper famously tried to help the restaurant out last month by ordering the whole menu — but why limit himself to what’s on the menu? You can now ask your server for Red Lobster’s official off-the-menu Flavor Flav’s Faves meal, which includes a Maine lobster tail, snow crab legs, garlic shrimp scampi, bacon macaroni and cheese, and your choice of one side. (Check local pricing here.) “As a long-time Red Lobster fan, I’m fired up to bring a little bit of my own flavor to fans with a meal featuring my seafood favorites,†Flavor Flav said in a statement. “You gotta get to Red Lobster and give it a try because this signature meal is hype, boy!†If this collaboration isn’t enough to bring in more customers, then maybe the seafood chain really is cooked.
