Thanks to the coronavirus, comedians are now trapped at home like the rest of us, so we decided that while we’re all self-quarantining, we’d do something a little different from our usual “Follow Friday†column. Instead of interviewing up-and-coming comedians we love on Twitter, we’re going live on Instagram every week to check in on some of our favorite people in comedy and get a firsthand look into how they’re handling the pandemic. So welcome to our new version of the column, now titled “Follow (From a Safe Distance) Friday.â€
This week, I had the distinct honor of video-chatting with the hilarious Grace Kuhlenschmidt (Paper magazine, TikTok, leading the way for straight lesbians across the nation) about how she’s keeping it together during quarantine. She gushed about her new home in the quaint mountain town of Brooklyn, New York; gave us some advice on how to make high-quality dumb internet videos; and suddenly remembered what she was taught in her high-school sex-ed class. She also got a sheepish when I complimented her incredible intellect and smart-looking hair: “My 2.7 GPA is beaming right now, [which is out of 3.0] I assume? It’d be crazy if it was out of 4.0. If it was out of 4.0 it’d be like, ‘Okay, she’s stupid.’â€
