Netflix’s Outer Banks has done its job as a teen soap: It’s had multiple popular seasons, it’s been consistently confusing, and it’s catapulted multiple members of its cast to potential movie stardom, with Madelyn Cline starring in that Knives Out movie and Drew Starkey in the upcoming Queer. So, naturally Netflix is ready for it to end. Prior to its season-four finale, premiering November 7, the show has been renewed for a fifth and final season. Star Chase Stokes broke the news in an Instagram post. “Now, with a little sadness, but also excitement, we’re putting Season Four behind us, and are turning to Season Five, in which we hope to bring our beloved Pogues home in the way we imagined and planned years ago,†he says in the post. “Season Five will be our last season and we think it will be our best yet.†The final episode of the season will be “feature length,†per Stokes. There may just be one more season to go, but that still means a lot of airtime for Pogues.
