  • There is a lot of agriculture.

Did you know?

Austria, Switzerland and Germany are federations. The different regions of each country are not called counties.

Austria is made up of nine states or provinces called Länder or Bundesländer, eg Tirol, Niederösterriech.

Germany has 16 Bundesländer, eg Bayern, Sachsen which are further divided into Städte (towns) or Gemeinde (municipalities). Berlin, Hamburg and Bremen are city states, which means that they are self-governing and have the same authority as the 13 other states.

Switzerland, the Swiss Confederation, is made up of 26 Kantone (cantons), eg Jura, Wallis, Zug which are grouped into seven geographical regions.
