13 Beauty Products We Love That Are on Sale at Spring

Spring is having a mega beauty sale on all the big guns (many of which rarely go on sale): Shiseido, Tatcha, Byredo, La Mer, and Diptyque, to name a few. Inevitably, there are deals on products we’ve written about before here at the Strat and at the Cut, so we’re happy to rattle off the best places to use that discount (many items are 10 percent off, though you’ll also find brand-specific specials and sales). If you’re shopping for a cream or a fancy hand wash, you’ll have to act fast, since the deals only last for the next three days (until May 20).

The classic, much lauded, Shiseido eyelash curler that’s a favorite of Cut beauty director Kathleen Hou, Rio Viera-Newton, and pretty much everyone else.

And a Shiseido sunscreen that Strat staffer Camilla Cho has used for years on her combination skin. She says, “It’s the only sunscreen that I can wear every day that’s also strong enough to wear on the ski slopes or at the beach. For all that sun protection, it’s surprising how light it feels on the skin and how easily it blends into my face.”

One of Fresh’s best sellers that came highly recommended by beauty writers here and at the Cut. It combines a tinted lip balm with added SPF (so you’d be wise to stock up before beach season).

This Tatcha essence has been called a dupe for SK-II before (and since founder Victoria Tsai used to work at SK-II, she would know a thing or two about it).

A trio of anti-aging Juice Beauty products for a fraction of the price that it would cost to buy them individually. The set includes a Strat favorite, the resveratrol-enhanced booster serum.

You could spring for one of their fancy hand lotions, or double up on some of this earthy-smelling hand sanitizer that Rio Viera-Newton brings in her carry-on.

If you’re in the market for a new signature scent for summer, the Do Son would be a good place to start. Hou calls this “the utopian ideal of a sultry, tropical summer night,” so it’s safe to say that it could be used as a freakum scent of sorts.

We’ve considered this “cheapest, nicest” Byredo buy before, but with the discount, you could say it’s an “even cheaper, nicer” gift to yourself.

Though we’d also put this Byredo rinse-free hand soap in the same category. It was deemed “the fanciest hand sanitizer in the world” last year by the Cut, and we think the smell of Suede would make any commute to work feel a little less depressing.

This brow kit is an essential for editor Margaret Rhodes, who says it has helped frame her face ever since she came across it in Paris many years ago: “They had the full, brushed look of eyebrows that had never been over-tweezed, grew in perfect density, and had some shape without looking too sculpted.”

You won’t find a better deal on this hydrating mask trio from Perricone MD (which includes the heavenly, chocolaty-smelling Cocoa Moisture Mask). Though if that’s more than you’re looking to spend all in one place, go for the Pre:Empt Multi-Tasking set, which includes a moisturizer that writer Lori Keong loves.

So 10 percent off may seem like small change, but when you’re shopping for rarely-on-sale La Mer, anything helps. Amber Rose says she can’t live without the brand’s luxurious moisturizing creams: “It’s really expensive, I’m not going to lie, but before I go to bed, I use the moisturizer really thick on my face and fall asleep with it on; and then I’ll wake up with a fresh glow. It’s amazing.”

And if you just want to bag something small from La Mer, consider this fancy lip balm, which contains a concentrated “Miracle Broth.”
