Here at the Strategist, we like to think of ourselves as crazy (in the good way) about the stuff we buy (like pillows), but as much as we’d like to, we can’t try everything. Which is why we have People’s Choice, in which we find the best-reviewed (that’s four-to-five-star reviews and lots of ‘em) products and single out the most convincing. Here, the best baby bouncers and jumpers on Amazon (take a look at some of the best baby stuff we’ve found, too), according to the people (note that reviews have been edited for length and clarity).

“As my son got bigger, he grew out of his baby rocker, but couldn’t quite sit up yet. This is at a perfect incline, so he can see what is going on around him, but also take a nap if sleepy. The removable toy bar is perfect when I need him entertained while I do chores. The seat easily detaches and can be thrown in the wash. It was also a lifesaver when he got his first cold and ear infection; lying flat was very uncomfortable for him, and this allowed him to get much-needed rest during the day. Oh, and it vibrates! He’ll grow out of it quickly, but for the price, it is absolutely worth it.”

“The BABYBJÖRN is LITERALLY the one baby product I own that doesn’t make my house look like I’m running a day care. Most of the things we have for him claim to be portable — and technically they are — but just the idea of disassembling and reassembling them for travel is exhausting enough to forget the whole excursion. But the BABYBJÖRN bouncer makes me feel hopeful.”

“Best purchase ever! Our 3-month-old has a little bit of a stiff neck on one side, so he favors turning his head to the left. This seat has nothing hard behind his head, and also lets him see to his sides better, so he turns to look at things, and his neck is already noticeably stronger after two days. It also bounces VERY easily, so any little movement he makes causes him to bounce, which keeps him super happy — and he loves looking at the toys rocking around on the bar, even though he hasn’t started reaching for stuff yet. Amazing price.”

“I love Fisher-Price for all my kids, and I have four! I bought this jumper for my youngest when she was about 4 months old. She’s on the smaller side, so really at that point, she was too young to care much about the toys on this, but loved to be upright. Now, she is almost 7 months old and loves all the features of this jumper. The toys are entertaining, and the music and sounds keep going, as long as the jumper is moving. The sounds aren’t too much, as far as toys go. I have heard much worse. This is a great jumper, and I’m glad I bought it!”

“I don’t write a lot of reviews, but I feel compelled to do so for this Jumperoo. It has been worth every bit of the $60 we spent on it. I joke with my husband that I would have gladly paid $500 for it. My daughter is 5.5 months old, and we have had it since she was 4 months, and she absolutely loves this thing. She loves jumping in it. When she’s tired of jumping, she plays with the toys. When she tires of that, we turn her to play with different toys. Then she jumps some more. Because of this, I can finally eat breakfast at a normal pace, fold a load of laundry, or take a mental break for my sanity. It’s super lightweight, too, so we often take it out on our porch, so she can play while we relax. Seriously, buy this Jumperoo. You will not regret it.”

“We bought this because my daughter’s day care had one. She loooved this at day care, and even more at home because she didn’t have to get out of it until she wanted to. She never got the hang of twisting herself around to use the other activity areas, though (I had to spin her manually). I believe we bought this when she was 5 to 5.5 months old, and got about three months of use out of it. You could start yours earlier with it, as the bouncing-seat part is adjustable, but we bought it later on — and when she started standing and walking along the edges of furniture ( 8 months or so old), this bouncer lost its pizzazz with her. We’ll be saving it for No. 2, though!”

“Around 5 months old, you know how hard it is to keep a child occupied. This is great for 10 to 15 minutes at a time. Once she grows, I will use the strap to raise the seat. Even at 5 months, her feet touch the nice, soft plastic-bottom floor. Putting it together — read the instructions! — I thought, I can do this without tools. Oh, boy. You need multiple screwdrivers to undo things, but it’s very easy to assemble. Mostly, click, click, click. Extremely hard to ‘unlock or unclick’ things.”

“This toy is hours of entertainment for our 7-month-old. The seat spins, which makes it easy for baby to switch from toy to toy. I was concerned after some of the reviews that there would be issues with the seat, but there have been none so far. The four hanging points (rather than some that have three) mean a lot of bouncing and side-to-side motion on a very secure frame. What is extremely refreshing is that the songs are not out of tune or annoying, which is a HUGE plus for us.”

“My daughter loves this jumper! It was super easy to assemble, and the fabric is machine washable, so it’s easy to clean. I was a little concerned about the strength of the clamp you put on the doorframe, and how secure it really was. However, once the jumper arrived, all that concern was put to rest. The clamp is so strong, I can hardly put it on the doorframe, and my husband has to take it down. With most things, I would consider that a negative, but with this item, that is a HUGE plus. My daughter is a little small, so we put a little pillow behind her back, and she sits in it just fine. She’s also teething, and the fabric on this can easily be wiped down, so that’s also a plus. Overall, this is a great little product, and a great way to keep her occupied while I’m doing laundry or cleaning. She’s safe, secure, and has a great time.”
