The Writers Guild of America Awards were held this weekend, and Chris Nolan took home a shiny new trophy. It was a minor upset: Inception scored the Best Original Screenplay prize over The Kids Are All Right and The Fighter. Aaron Sorkin took home another prize, too, winning the Best Adapted Screenplay Award for The Social Network. Oscar front-runner The King’s Speech was not nominated because it didn’t qualify under union rules. On the TV side, Matthew Weiner won again for Mad Men. More kudos. More Oscar foreshadowing.
