If you found each teaser for director Alfonso Cuarón’s latest release increasingly scary, then the film’s first official trailer is sure to terrify the bejeezus out of you. Like the previous two clips, we see Sandra Bullock hurling through the atmosphere after something goes wrong on her outer space mission. She’s lost and scrambling for air “372 miles above the earth†with only the sound of George Clooney’s voice to soothe her. The trailer feels oddly claustrophobic for a movie about being lost in space and we can add Cuarón’s signature long takes — this time of orbital matter flying toward us in a manner not unlike the 3D rides at Disney — to the general discomfort we expect to feel when the film opens October 4.
