Portlandia director and co-creator Jonathan Krisel has landed a coveted new TV gig: he’s directing, co-writing, and producing Zach Galifianakis and Louis C.K.’s upcoming FX pilot, THR reports. The untitled half-hour comedy pilot, which was announced in January, will star Galifianakis and will be co-created by Galifianakis, Krisel, and Louis C.K. C.K. is producing the show as part of his new multi-year deal with FX to create and produce new shows for them.
This is one of two FX pilots Krisel is directing and producing, along with Man Seeking Women, which stars Jay Baruchel and Eric Andre, is produced by Lorne Michaels, and was created by SNL’s Simon Rich. Krisel, who is also the resident director and a co-creator on Comedy Central’s Kroll Show, will continue working on Portlandia in addition to these two pilot obligations.
