John Stamos and Rob Lowe are headed to Fox to star in their own comedies. According to THR, the network has given series commitments to single-cam comedies The Grinder starring Lowe, Grandfathered starring Stamos, and a new post-college comedy called The Guide to Surviving Life.
In The Grinder, Lowe plays a famous TV lawyer named Dean Sanderson who moves back to his hometown, and Fred Savage plays his little brother Stewart Sanderson “who is constantly in his shadow.†Grandfathered co-stars Paget Brewster, hails from former Simpsons and Office writer Danny Chun, and centers on Stamos playing a version of himself as “a charismatic longtime bachelor whose life is upended when he discovers he’s a father — and a grandfather.†Meanwhile, The Guide to Surviving Life stars Jack Cutmore-Scott and Meaghan Rath (Being Human, New Girl) and “explores the misadventures people have after college but before they settle down.â€
