Sarah Gavron’s Suffragette, starring Carey Mulligan, Meryl Streep, and Helena Bonham Carter, premieres October 7 at BFI London Film Festival as the opening-night film. Mulligan plays a character based on Emmeline Pankhurst, a militant suffragette fighting for women’s right to vote in 20th-century Britain; Meryl Streep makes an appearance in a big hat urging the women forward, which makes sense, because we would also do anything Meryl Streep told us to do. There are two trailers of the film: the first with “Landslide,†and the second without. Which one you choose, of course, is up to you.
