Madonna posted an enigmatic tweet answering the question no one knew to ask: Who is Madame X? “Madame X is a secret agent,†she wrote. “Traveling around the world/Changing identities/Fighting for freedom/Bringing light to dark places.†Under the poetic opening salvo, Madame X listed all the other things she is, which included “A prostitute†and “A professor†but not “a bitch†or “a love†or “a child†or “a mother.†In March, the Material Girl posted a video of a child in a greensuit playing on a chroma-key background. “Soon I will get to show you what I was doing with some new amazing technology,†she wrote. Are the two teases connected? Only Madame X knows.
