Standout Late Night With Seth Meyers writer and performer Amber Ruffin is getting her own series, and itâs headed to NBCâs new streaming platform, which the network revealed is named Peacock. In a press release today, NBC unveiled a slate of upcoming programming for Peacock, which includes a series from Ruffin titled The Amber Ruffin Show. The weekly series is described as âa late-night show with just the good parts â the comedyâ and will show off Ruffinâs âsignature smart-and-silly take on the week.â Seth Meyers and Mike Shoemaker are credited as executive producers on the show, and Ruffinâs frequent Late Night collaborator on âJokes Seth Canât Tell,â Jenny Hagel, is credited as a writer.
Ruffin has had other comedies in the works at NBC within the past few years. Back in 2017, the network put into development a pilot from Ruffin titled Going Dutch, and then earlier this year it ordered a pilot presentation for a new series produced by Seth Meyers titled Village Gazette. The Amber Ruffin Show doesnât have a premiere date yet, but Peacock is now officially set to launch next April.
