The dose of shine was carried over to Paris, where Balmain’s lamé minis and gowns featured the label’s signature strong shoulders and thigh-high slits. Rochas’s retro dresses were crafted from glittery gold brocade, Dries Van Noten combined demure silhouettes with platinum shine, and Rue du Mail added some texture to the classic shift with panels of gold fabric.
