With the upcoming launches of her Netflix show and reworked lifestyle brand, Meghan Markle is gearing up to become a full-time lifestyle influencer. While we await With Love, Meghan and an As Ever website where you can actually click on things, Markle is keeping us satiated with little teases of what’s to come. She’s been loving Instagram lately, and to reintroduce herself ahead of her latest business ventures, she’s been posting things like videos of her getting Billie Eilish merch for a wildfire victim and a photo of her drizzling honey on a croissant. On Thursday, she shared a picture of what appears to be some kind of vision board with the caption “From memory lane to the memories I’m making today …”
Okay, lots to unpack here. New jam labels, children’s art, and many, many artifacts from her old blog, The Tig. This is a rich text, and luckily for you, I’ve spent more time than I’d like to admit zooming in on this image to find everything worth mentioning. Here’s the best stuff.
The Tig inspo
The “memory lane” reference in Markle’s caption seems to be a nod to her old lifestyle blog, The Tig, which she shut down in 2017. (You can sort of make out that one of the Post-its says “Tig Days.”) This part of the vision board showcases, alongside top-down photos of toasts and salads, several BuzzFeed–core quote cards with Tig branding that say things like “I love you with all my butt. I would say my heart, but my butt is bigger” and “You cannot make everybody happy, you are not a jar of Nutella.”
Subtle With Love, Meghan and As Ever promo
In the bottom-left corner, you can see what appears to be new photography for Markle’s As Ever endeavor. My guess is that this is a hint at what the brand’s Instagram grid might look like. In the photos, Markle pets her late dog, Guy; walks through a garden in a gown; and gathers produce. I want more front-facing videos from her, but I guess this will do.
Over on the right side of the board, there’s a Chez Panisse gift card, which I believe is a nod to the fact that acclaimed chef Alice Waters is one of Markle’s guests on With Love, Meghan.
Calligraphy practice?
Okay, look in the top-left corner at the handwritten (?) sign that reads, “Farm Fresh Eggs, Carrots Two Ways, Sweet Treats” in beautiful calligraphy. What an odd menu. Here’s hoping that this is more of a vibe check than an actual plan.
Finally, jam
Our long national nightmare is almost over. The jam is coming. Pinned to the board next to Markle’s new social assets are jam labels … with barcodes! Soon enough, you’ll be able to spend real American dollars on the stuff. These labels are for a “raspberry spread,” which sounds delicious, but I’m hoping she also releases the strawberry, which is what all of her celebrity friends were raving about last year.
Also on the board are some pieces of linen (As Ever napkin collection incoming?), a photo of a pancake with a face made of fruit and bacon, and a photo of Markle drinking wine in her backyard with someone who kind of looks like Alice Waters. Most interestingly to me, there’s a handwritten note from someone with the initials T.A. that reads, “Love you, Megan! Great menu!” Who do we think that is? Chopped host Ted Allen? Tori Amos? It could be anyone, but let’s hope that the menu they’re praising isn’t the one for eggs, carrots, and sweet treats.
