U.S. Customs Seized $18.6 Million Worth of Counterfeit Sunglasses; Christy Turlington Makes Directorial Debut

• U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized 156,900 pairs of counterfeit designer sunglasses in six different shipments entering the Port of Los Angeles from China in the past two months. The total inventory is said to be worth $18.6 million. [Long Beach Press Telegram]

Christy Turlington made her directorial debut on Saturday at the Tribeca Film Festival with her film No Woman, No Cry. It is a documentary about hemorrhaging after childbirth, a leading cause of maternal death, and something she experienced and survived. [Reuters]

• Topshop owner Sir Philip Green and the Weston family, which owns Selfridges and Holt Renfrew, made it onto the top ten of the Sunday Times of London’s annual Rich List. Green’s fortune is listed at $6.31 billiion, and Weston’s is $6.93 billion at the current exchange. [WWD, Times UK]

Hugo Boss had plans to close a factory in Cleveland, Ohio, but has since decided to keep it open. The decision will save 300 jobs. Danny Glover led a boycott of Hugo Boss at the Oscars because of the Cleveland-factory situation. [WSJ]
