Kimora Lee Simmons announced via Twitter late last week that she would leave Phat Fashions, which includes the Baby Phat and Phat Farm labels. Phat Fashions is owned by the Kellwood corporation, which will end their partnership with Kimora on September 1. Those with the patience to parse Kimora’s tweets may notice that Kimora’s feelings about her soon-to-be former business partners at Kellwood are fairly transparent. Such as:
OMG!! This is DEEP!—>RT @fatimafarasha: @OfficialKimora babyphat cat was really a sphinx they have the cat but you have the wings! lol
Also, the ever forthright and succinct:
DEADWOOOOD!!!! :0
She also RT’d many messages with this meme:
Lol! Ur fab!—>RT@itsJazzyFBaby: @OfficialKimora U know Baby Phat will be like nothing without you right?! They might as well just STOP!
Furthermore there will be no Baby Phat fashion show this season, and Kimora blames the higher-ups:
I will not b there. And corporate has decided not 2 do one!—>RT@starchild36: @OfficialKimora Can I come to the Baby Phat show for fashion week?
Kimora will continue designing her other three fashion lines, including KLS, Kouture by Kimora, and Fabulosity, her JCPenney juniors’ line. She also still has her own reality show, fragrances, and probably lots of other things we’re forgetting or don’t even know about that will only aid her lifelong quest to become the Hello Kitty of America. Er, maybe Hello Peacock or something, since Deadwood has the cat and she has the wings.
