First Looks: See the Altuzarra for J.Crew Capsule Collection

Photos of Joseph Altuzarra’s much-anticipated capsule collection for J.Crew — available online on April 19 and at J.Crew’s Fifth Avenue flagship on April 23 — are finally out. The seven-piece collaboration stems from his CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund prize (the two runners-up, Pamela Love and Creatures of the Wind, are doing capsule lines as well; you can see a selection of their designs on Vogue.com). According to Jenna Lyons, all three designers were given the same specific materials and instructions to work with, so we can expect different iterations of stripes, gingham, and denim in each of their forthcoming collections. Check out our slideshow to see Altuzarra’s offerings, which he says were inspired by “Brigitte Bardot in Saint-Tropez and French preppy style.”
