W’s annual “art meets fashion” issue comes out this week, and as always, its cover features a celebrity portrait done by a leading artist. This year brings four covers, each featuring Jessica Chastain realized by a different artist — George Condo, Rineke Dijkstra, Chantal Joffe, and Mickalene Thomas. See Chastain with a huge curly wig, a Marge Simpson hairdo, and multiple artsy settings for the covers and accompanying spread in our slideshow — if only all of 2013’s covers could be this lovely and inventive.
