Ever since Brit Marling started making red-carpet rounds for her new film, The East, she has seemed partial to minimal, black-and-white outfits (à la Carey Mulligan at all of her Gatsby events). Yesterday at the Los Angeles premiere of the film, the actress continued that trend, pulling on a dual-colored look from Balenciaga’s fall 2013 collection. She wore black pants with a short-sleeved, ankle-grazing coat with cream lapels, which was fastened with a delicate silver bow. She added black peep-toe pumps and bold red lips to finish her look — and also like Gatsby Carey, seemed to have forgotten how to smile.
