The pompadoured fashion editor of the International Herald Tribune sat down for an interview with Fern Mallis at 92nd Street Y, where she shared thoughts on John Galliano. “It’s a tragedy. We know that creative people have all sorts of demons,” Menkes said. “I would never say that I love Hitler in any shape or form ever, and I don’t know many people who would. That’s not to say that somebody with such brilliant talent shouldn’t be given some kind of second chance. But how do you do that is difficult.” So even though Parsons gave Galliano the boot, he may be pleased to know that Suzy’s got his back.
