Ron Howard’s latest film, Rush, tells the story of two rival Formula One race-car drivers from the seventies. We already knew that the film would feature Chris Hemsworth with a layered, shoulder-length blond cut (that’s much tamer than his Thor mane) and the likely more stylish Olivia Wilde. Turns out, Howard also reached out to Gucci’s creative director, Frida Giannini, to help design the costumes and capture the glamour of the seventies. And for Gucci purists, this film won’t disappoint. Both Hemsworth and Wilde will be wearing pieces plucked from the archive — specifically from Frida Giannini’s past collections. We wonder how Prada and The Great Gatsby creative team feel about this.
